Seemingly out of nowhere MC Rikta released his debut streetalbum "18 Piges À Peine" which found it's way to our P.O. box. Playing the disc in the audio system had us remembering Rikta's name quite quick, as the 18 year old MC has been paying his dues for several years through performances at Skyrock, Génération 88.2 and Radio France Maghreb.
The album features the single for which Rikta shot his first video "Babylon", which was also featured on his first EP titled "MC Rikta". As a hungry artist Rikta doesn't fail to deliver and, in the process, impress. "Nouvelle Bombe" has Rikta rhyming the way Sinik sounded two years ago; sharp, promising and dedicated.
It's the same honest and driven impression which Rikta holds on to for the best cuts on the album like "Dans le Creux de l'Oeil" and "C'est Mon Droit".
The best cut on the album however is the Koma (Scred Connexxion) assisted "Le Monde Pleure", on which the two changes view like:
"Torture viol inceste acte inhumain
A croire que le cerveau de l'homme tiens dans le creux d'une main
Tu crois quoi chacun sa vie chacun sa peine
Tu rêve de belle voiture des gosses rêvent d'une assiette pleine"
With the way Rikta holds his own on a track with a veteran like Koma, it's both hard to believe he's only 18 years old and, more importantly, we have huge expectations for the young'n, and we, for one, are looking forward to his official full length album.
